Doctors

Each Today's Vision has at least one state-certified optometrist on staff. Optometrists undergo eight years of higher education in earning their Bachelor's and Doctor of Optometry Degrees, and are licensed by the Texas Optometry Board.

By Texas law, optometrists can:

  • Determine the refractive status of human vision
  • Adapt lenses to compensate for refractive errors
  • Treat most eye infections
  • Remove foreign bodies from the eye
  • Diagnose systemic conditions that are ocular manifestation of specific conditions
  • Diagnose and treat children's eye conditions
  • Work with other health professionals (ophthalmologists, neurologists, cardiologists) in diagnosing and treating other conditions
  • Prescribe oral and topical medications
  • Co-manage LASIK surgery
