Doctors
Each Today's Vision has at least one state-certified
optometrist on staff. Optometrists undergo eight years of higher
education in earning their Bachelor's and Doctor of Optometry
Degrees, and are licensed by the Texas Optometry Board.
By Texas law, optometrists can:
- Determine the refractive status of human vision
- Adapt lenses to compensate for refractive errors
- Treat most eye infections
- Remove foreign bodies from the eye
- Diagnose systemic conditions that are ocular manifestation
of specific conditions
- Diagnose and treat children's eye conditions
- Work with other health professionals (ophthalmologists, neurologists,
cardiologists) in diagnosing and treating other conditions
- Prescribe oral and topical medications
- Co-manage LASIK surgery
