NOTE FROM THE DOCTOR -

Dr. Chavana obtained his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He has a Associate of Arts Degree in Biology from Del Mar College and a Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Texas in Austin. He has performed research in Aging and Immunology and has received medical training at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
In addition, his externship training at Houston Eye Associates in Houston provided a primary care education with emphasis on cataracts and glaucoma treatments. Dr. Chavana has experience in the area of ocular disease including glaucoma management and pre- and post-operative management of ocular conditions including LASIK laser vision correction.
Dr. Chavana is a certified Corneal Refractive Therapist, a non-surgical process that reshapes the cornea while one sleeps, thus temporarily reducing the need for glasses and contacts. Dr. Chavana specializes in bifocal, toric, keratoconic and gas permeable contact lenses. Other areas on interest include pediatric eye care and vision therapy.
