Frames

Eyeglasses are the ultimate fashion accessory. Choose a frame that complements your facial structure. Look for a style that balances properly on your face. Confused as to what is right for you? Here are a few guidelines:

  • A long narrow face looks best in oval frames.
  • A round face is most flattered by an angled or squared shape.
  • Shorten a long nose with light, wire frames.
  • Aviator styles slim a broad face.
  • If your eyes tilt up a little (or your face is starting to tilt down), frames that tilt up can help give you a visual face-lift.

Check out examples of the various types of frames Today's Vision stocks - kids, women, men, fashion, reading, sunglasses and sports. These are but a few examples. Most Today's Vision locations stock hundreds (even thousands) of different types of frames in all shapes, sizes and colors.

To select the frame (or frames) that are right for you, consult with your Today's Vision doctor. Better yet, allow enough time to try on more than one.

Today's Vision locations will have many of the top name designers you want, including Hart Schaffner Marx, Luxottica, Laura Ashley, Bebe, Dakota Smith, Eddie Bauer, Nicole Miller … and the list goes on.

Most important, there is a frame to fit any budget.

Frames made with Flexon memory metal offer unique characteristics including flexibility (10 times springier than spring steel); lightweight (25% lighter than conventional materials), and durability (won't kink and resists breakage). And they're corrosion resistant.

Memory metal was discovered accidentally several years ago by metallurgists at the U.S. Naval Ordinance Lab. After producing a small amount of a titanium based metal alloy, they hit it several times with a hammer to test for hardness, which caused the metal to dent. The lab staff left the dented sample on the window sill before going to lunch. When they got back, they discovered the dents had removed themselves after being exposed to the noonday sun. The metal had remembered its original shape, and returned to it.

If you would like a lightweight frame that will not break or lose its shape with regular wear - and hugs the head for a secure, comfortable fit without feeling "heavy", check out a Flexon frame.
