ULTRAVIOLET COATING: A coating which blocks
99-100 percent of UV emitted from the sun. It
is recommended for the prevention of cataracts.
It is suggested for all glasses that are worn
outdoors.
SCRATCH COATING: A coating which prevents
excessive scratches on lenses. To prevent scratches,
use fragrance-free liquid hand soap and 100% cotton
to clean your lenses. Never use paper products
to clean your lenses. *Note; many lenses such
as polycarbonate, hi-index and glass have a "built
in scratch coat".
ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING: A coating which
decreases the glare seen by the patient. It also
decreases reflections. This coating is suggested
to prevent night glare and computer glare. Anti-reflective
coating is also popular among public speakers,
models and news reporters to prevent reflection
when under spot lights and cameras.
