A chalazion (also called a meibomian cyst) is
a painless swelling on the edge of the eyelid.
Chalazions vary in size. Some are so small that
they are barely noticeable, but others grow to
be as large as a pea. Some become red and swollen
due to infection. Sometimes a chalazion will disappear
by itself. In other cases, they have to be removed.
Oral and/or topical antibiotics may be helpful
in the management of chalazion. Consult your doctor.
