Retinoscopy

One of the most important objective measurements to determine refractive state of the eye. While observing the pupillary reflex's motion in response to a light source (retinoscope) at a known distance, varying lens combinations are aligned with a phoropter until a "neutral point" of no movement is noted. The lens combination is adjusted for the light source distance to establish the refractive state.
